About to buy my first joystick, but I need a cheap one. what are the basics that it should have?

you can have a joystick and control some functions with the keyboard if you like. personally i want at least a 3D twist for rudder control on my stick. there is a lot of threads about joysticks here, and if you check them you will find out that one of the most important thing, is to try how the stick feels in your hand before you buy. so go to the store and try play a game with different sticks if you can.

also make sure it's not to complicated for you. i must have the twising joy for rudder i also have 12 buttons which are all programed. with that many it just takes some time getting used to the buttons

I'm geting a SL-6631 Cougar Pro Vibration Flightstick / USB. type it into play.com, its cheap and looks good enough Smile

the first joy i had vibrated. i couldnt stand it, i personally dont like the vibrations

all the above - and keys so you can exit / enter the plane and open your 'chute.

and the ability to remember the keys - otherwise you think you are changing camera view and are really falling to your death Evil or Very Mad
